It may be trite, but I never thought the passage would be so meaningful in my life:
“I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo. "So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.”
This felt like a love letter to the American Experiment. We get ambushed by everything wrong in this world to the point of hopelessness, this was a nice reminder of the gift that is being able to strive towards something greater. Great job here!
