I’d like to say they’re all strategic nihilist, but that phrase implies they are being nihilistic for strategic reasons and they’re not. They’re all just dumb or boot-licking.
I mean I suppose it’s nihilist in the sense that none of it means anything, and has absolutely no point outside of being something to shout on social media
Interesting. I would only add that the framework you lay out is also a recipe for monumental corruption and grift. Tariff exemptions, for instance are already on the market at Margo Loco. There is an underlying element of school yard bullying and extortion from which only a few will profit, and for which everyone else will pay.
Great read, as usual. Very hard to get motivated to keep slogging away on campaign support plans/strat docs when it’s all going to be undermined via a “reTruth” post.
I’m projecting a bit here but I think Taiwanese who also follow US politics must sense the Bridge Colbys of US politics see Taiwan as a game board to play on top of, not people/society worthy of protecting in its own right.
Like GW prattled on about defending the women of Afghanistan, the liberal democracy of Iraq, against the dictator? All disposable.
Every oil state knows they're disposable. And they know that oil's time is coming, rapidly, within their own generation. Why else bribe Trump with $2B?
As Shoresy would say about the next four years. "Sooo dumb!"

The worst is yet to come.

Excellent work.
Thank you.
